The best Ethiopian food I have had in years! Freshly baked injera, amazing attitude, and kind people. There is definitely some wait time, and they don't have enough people to order quickly, but the food more than makes up for it! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

One of the things that truly sets Fasika Ethiopian Restaurant apart is their commitment to authenticity. The menu is packed with classic Ethiopian dishes, including the popular injera, a sourdough flatbread that serves as the foundation of most meals. Injera is not just food; itβs a symbol of Ethiopian hospitality and is used to scoop up flavorful stews, vegetables, and meats. The restaurantβs injera is made fresh daily, with a perfect balance of texture and tang, which makes it the perfect base for every dish.
The star of the menu at Fasika has to be the various stews and lentil dishes. The doro wat, a spicy chicken stew simmered in a rich, flavorful sauce, is a must-try. Itβs traditionally served with hard-boiled eggs and offers a deep, complex flavor profile thatβs as comforting as it is satisfying. Another standout is the shiro, a hearty chickpea stew seasoned with garlic, onions, and berbere, a traditional Ethiopian spice mix that gives it a distinctive warmth. For those who prefer vegetarian options, Fasika has a range of vegetable dishes, like the tasty misir wat (spicy lentils) and gomen (collard greens), which showcase the freshness and vibrant spices of Ethiopian cuisine.
A key part of the dining experience at Fasika Ethiopian Restaurant is the communal style of eating. Ethiopian meals are often shared, with the food served on a large platter thatβs placed in the center of the table. This communal dining experience fosters a sense of togetherness, making it perfect for groups and families. The atmosphere at Fasika is relaxed and friendly, and the staff are always happy to explain the traditions behind each dish if you're new to Ethiopian food.
In terms of beverages, Fasika offers a range of traditional Ethiopian drinks, from honey wine (Tej) to strong Ethiopian coffee. The coffee ceremony is an important part of Ethiopian culture, and Fasika takes great pride in offering guests a true taste of it. The rich, aromatic coffee is brewed right at the table, filling the air with a tantalizing aroma that makes the whole experience feel even more authentic. Paired with a slice of homemade baklava, the coffee provides the perfect ending to a delicious meal.
What really makes Fasika Ethiopian Restaurant stand out is the care they put into every dish. Whether it's the sourcing of fresh ingredients or the time spent perfecting recipes, you can taste the difference in every bite. We had the most delicious Ethiopian meal here, authentically prepared, warm and friendly hosts. Loved it and would highly recommend!
Excellent food! This is a new restaurant with some growing pains, but the food is amazing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The menu has some really great vegetarian options. There is plenty of seating available. Expect a bit of a wait time here, but the food is high quality and fresh!
This place has really good food and it feels super authentic. Everytime I've been in there it's just been mostly a bunch of Ethiopian people just hanging out and chatting away. It feels really nice to see that. And the chef is really good and very nice. She even comes out to give you the food herself! The wait staff are really nice as well. Just always a really good experience. Definitely recommend for a good meal in Sioux Falls!
Really good. Interms of actual taste. It is close to authentic Ethiopian food. This is coming from an Ethiopian.
Yum! This is kind of a hole in the wall place with excellent food. There was only one lady working (cooking and serving) so service was a little slow but it was fine, as we were a group having a good time. I had the veggie plate for one and it was absolutely delicious. Good portion sizes and enough enjira so I didn't have to order extra. Delicious wine also homemade. The lady working was so genuine and lovely. The veggie plate was enough to take half home. Great place to eat a filling meal.
